Noor Akhmad Setiawan is with the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, as an Associate Professor. He was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in 1975. He received his BEng and MEng degrees in Electrical Engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia; a PhD degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia; and a Professional Engineer (Ir.) in Electrical Engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada in 1998, 2003, 2009, and 2018, respectively. He has been a certified senior professional engineer since 2018. He has been a lecturer in the Electrical and Information Engineering Department at Universitas Gadjah Mada since 1999. He served as Chair of the Bachelor Program in Information Engineering from 2013 to 2015 and Vice Chair of the Master Program in Information Engineering from 2016 to 2019. He also served as Secretary of the IEEE Indonesia Section from 2019–2020 and Treasurer of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Indonesia Chapter from 2019 until now. His research interests include cybernetics and human-machine systems. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, IRSS, PII, IAENG, and INSTICC.
